The Quarry is a mine in the Sangre Territory, the 1869 frontier setting of the free browser MMO Desperados Destiny.
The place itself
A massive stone quarry carved into the hillside southwest of Red Gulch. Quarry Boss Pete runs a tight operation, cutting granite, marble, and sandstone for construction throughout the territory. The work is backbreaking and dangerous, but it pays well. The sound of hammers on stone echoes across the site.
What you notice standing there
Dust hangs in the air from constant stone cutting. Workers swing pickaxes and mallets in rhythm, chipping away at massive blocks. The quarry walls tower overhead, showing layers of different colored stone. Derricks and pulleys haul slabs onto wagons bound for town.
Getting there
The Quarry is a mine; it sits in the Settler Territory zone, in the Town region. It carries real risk; travel here is not something to do underlevelled. Travel in Desperados Destiny costs energy and takes in-game time, and a route can be interrupted — the danger rating of the road feeds directly into how often that happens. Locations must be discovered before you can travel to them directly, and discovering one for the first time pays experience.
