The Edge is a mesa in the Sangre Territory, the 1869 frontier setting of the free browser MMO Desperados Destiny.
The place itself
The last safe point before The Scar proper begins. A rocky outcrop overlooking the massive fissure that plunges into lightless depths. The air here feels wrong - too cold, too still, as if reality itself recoils from what lies below. Those who stand at the edge report vertigo, nausea, and an overwhelming sense of being watched by something vast and hungry.
What you notice standing there
Reality feels thin here. The wind carries whispers in no human language. Shadows move with no source. The fissure below yawns like a mouth waiting to swallow the world. Your thoughts feel observed. Your mind rebels against perceiving what cannot be. Even hardened outlaws feel their sanity fray.
Getting there
The Edge is a mesa; in the Devils Canyon region, and expects a character of at least level 30. It is among the most dangerous ground in the Territory. Travel in Desperados Destiny costs energy and takes in-game time, and a route can be interrupted — the danger rating of the road feeds directly into how often that happens. Locations must be discovered before you can travel to them directly, and discovering one for the first time pays experience.
