Mountain Peak is a wilderness in the Sangre Territory, the 1869 frontier setting of the free browser MMO Desperados Destiny.
The place itself
The highest point in the territory, where eagles nest and the air is so thin it makes you dizzy. From here, you can see for hundreds of miles in every direction. A small shrine has been erected by Nahi pilgrims. The climb is treacherous, but rare resources make it worthwhile for the dedicated.
What you notice standing there
Wind howls constantly. Snow patches never melt even in summer. The view is breathtaking - literally and figuratively. The shrine is simple but profound. This is a place of power and prayer.
Getting there
Mountain Peak is a wilderness; it sits in the Frontier zone, in the Frontier region. It is among the most dangerous ground in the Territory. Travel in Desperados Destiny costs energy and takes in-game time, and a route can be interrupted — the danger rating of the road feeds directly into how often that happens. Locations must be discovered before you can travel to them directly, and discovering one for the first time pays experience.

8 creatures are known to range around Mountain Peak: Catamount Elder (level 12), Cave Bear (level 8), Frost Phantom (level 8), Mountain Lion (level 3), Mountain Spirit (level 7), Skin-Walker Elder (level 9), The Storm-Dreamer (level 18) and Thunderbird Fledgling (level 9). Each is recorded separately in the Field Guide, and a first kill on any species pays a substantial one-off experience bonus.
