Hermit's Warning is a camp in the Sangre Territory, the 1869 frontier setting of the free browser MMO Desperados Destiny.
The place itself
A crude camp built from scavenged wood and stone, located as far from The Scar as possible while still being able to warn travelers. The Last Sane Man lives here, dedicating what remains of his broken life to turning people away from doom. His warnings grow more frantic each year as What-Waits-Below stirs in restless dreams.
What you notice standing there
The camp reeks of fear-sweat and desperation. Warning signs carved into wood and stone litter the ground. "TURN BACK" "DEATH BELOW" "IT HUNGERS" are scratched into every surface. A fire burns perpetually - the hermit refuses to sleep in darkness. Sometimes he screams warnings at things only he can see.
Getting there
Hermit's Warning is a camp; in the Devils Canyon region, and expects a character of at least level 30. It is dangerous country, and the roads to it are worse than the place itself. Travel in Desperados Destiny costs energy and takes in-game time, and a route can be interrupted — the danger rating of the road feeds directly into how often that happens. Locations must be discovered before you can travel to them directly, and discovering one for the first time pays experience.
