Badlands Canyon
Wilderness · Frontier · Danger 6
Badlands Canyon is a wilderness in the Sangre Territory, the 1869 frontier setting of the free browser MMO Desperados Destiny.
The place itself
A twisting canyon used by smugglers and bandits to ambush supply wagons. Red rock walls rise on both sides, creating perfect kill zones. The sun only reaches the canyon floor for a few hours each day. Bones litter the shadows—animal and otherwise.
What you notice standing there
Echoes carry for miles. The rocks are stained rust-red—clay, they say, though it looks like dried blood. Buzzards circle overhead. The wind sounds like whispers. Every shadow could hide an ambush.
Getting there
Badlands Canyon is a wilderness; it sits in the Frontier zone, in the Frontier region. It is dangerous country, and the roads to it are worse than the place itself. Travel in Desperados Destiny costs energy and takes in-game time, and a route can be interrupted — the danger rating of the road feeds directly into how often that happens. Locations must be discovered before you can travel to them directly, and discovering one for the first time pays experience.
What hunts here
One creature is known to range around Badlands Canyon: Canyon Bandit (level 3). Each is recorded separately in the Field Guide, and a first kill on any species pays a substantial one-off experience bonus.
