Ancestor's Spring
Ruins · Sacred Mountains · Danger 5
Ancestor's Spring is a ruins in the Sangre Territory, the 1869 frontier setting of the free browser MMO Desperados Destiny.
The place itself
Once the most sacred Tseka site, now a scar of mud, rubble, and mine tailings. The spring ran dry in 1867 when mining disrupted the aquifer. Dead cottonwoods stand like gravestones over what was lost forever.
What you notice standing there
The land itself feels wounded. Bitter spirits linger here. Coalition members who visit experience profound grief. Some report hearing water flowing - the ghost of the spring.
Getting there
Ancestor's Spring is a ruins; it sits in the Sacred Mountains zone, in the Sacred Lands region, and expects a character of at least level 10. It carries real risk; travel here is not something to do underlevelled. Travel in Desperados Destiny costs energy and takes in-game time, and a route can be interrupted — the danger rating of the road feeds directly into how often that happens. Locations must be discovered before you can travel to them directly, and discovering one for the first time pays experience.
What hunts here
5 creatures are known to range around Ancestor's Spring: Ash Serpent (level 18), Grief Crow (level 20), Relic Desecrator (level 22), The Ancestor's Grief (level 26) and The Drowned Memory (level 24). Each is recorded separately in the Field Guide, and a first kill on any species pays a substantial one-off experience bonus.
