The Seal of Silver
Sacred Site · Frontier · Danger 8
The Seal of Silver is a sacred site in the Sangre Territory, the 1869 frontier setting of the free browser MMO Desperados Destiny.
The place itself
Deep beneath the mine, past tunnels that predate the Spanish, lies a chamber that predates mankind. The Seal of Silver—a massive disc of tarnished metal covered in symbols from dead civilizations. It should glow with steady light. Instead, it flickers like a dying candle. Black water seeps through cracks in the seal. Something vast and terrible sleeps below, and its sleep grows restless.
What you notice standing there
The weight of ages presses on your chest. The air is wrong—too thick, too cold, full of whispers in languages that predate Spanish, predate Nahuatl, predate human speech. The seal hums at a frequency felt in bone rather than heard. Reality is thin here. Fragile. Failing.
Getting there
The Seal of Silver is a sacred site; it sits in the Frontier zone, in the Frontier region. It is dangerous country, and the roads to it are worse than the place itself. Travel in Desperados Destiny costs energy and takes in-game time, and a route can be interrupted — the danger rating of the road feeds directly into how often that happens. Locations must be discovered before you can travel to them directly, and discovering one for the first time pays experience.
What hunts here
4 creatures are known to range around The Seal of Silver: Seal Warden Fragment (level 15), Silver-Blind Coyote (level 14), The Covetous Echo (level 17) and The Silver Hunger (level 20). Each is recorded separately in the Field Guide, and a first kill on any species pays a substantial one-off experience bonus.
