Settler Drilling Site is a mine in the Sangre Territory, the 1869 frontier setting of the free browser MMO Desperados Destiny.
The place itself
When you arrive for the raid, it's already too late. The equipment runs unmanned. Blood trails lead underground. Following them into ancient tunnels reveals the horror: dead Settlers torn apart, a corrupted pool of black water pulsing with malevolent life, and then IT emerges—a Lesser Water Demon. Serpentine body twenty feet long. Eyes that burn with thousand-year hunger. Too many teeth. The Settlers didn't just drill into rock—they drilled into the prison. The seal is cracked. The demon is loose. And this is just a fragment of what's sealed below. Welcome to the end of your tutorial.
What you notice standing there
Machinery idles mid-cycle, like whoever ran it left mid-swing. The black water in the shaft doesn't reflect torchlight the way water should. Everything down here is quiet in the specific way that means something is listening.
Getting there
Settler Drilling Site is a mine; it sits in the Settler Territory zone, in the Frontier region, and expects a character of at least level 15. It is among the most dangerous ground in the Territory. Travel in Desperados Destiny costs energy and takes in-game time, and a route can be interrupted — the danger rating of the road feeds directly into how often that happens. Locations must be discovered before you can travel to them directly, and discovering one for the first time pays experience.
