Powder Magazine is a camp in the Sangre Territory, the 1869 frontier setting of the free browser MMO Desperados Destiny.
The place itself
A reinforced building set apart from other structures, storing thousands of pounds of explosives. "Boom Boom" Betty supervises all blasting operations with manic enthusiasm. She loves explosions a bit too much. Rumors persist that she has stolen military-grade explosives hidden somewhere in the magazine.
What you notice standing there
Heavily fortified with thick walls and a reinforced door. Shelves hold crates of dynamite, blasting caps, fuses, and other explosives. Everything is meticulously organized and labeled. A strict sign-in/sign-out system tracks every stick of dynamite. Betty keeps her tools immaculate and her explosives perfectly arranged. The faint smell of nitroglycerin permeates everything. Everyone speaks quietly here, as if loud noise might set something off.
Getting there
Powder Magazine is a camp; in the Sangre Mountains region, and expects a character of at least level 5. It is dangerous country, and the roads to it are worse than the place itself. Travel in Desperados Destiny costs energy and takes in-game time, and a route can be interrupted — the danger rating of the road feeds directly into how often that happens. Locations must be discovered before you can travel to them directly, and discovering one for the first time pays experience.
