La Curandera is a curandera in the Sangre Territory, the 1869 frontier setting of the free browser MMO Desperados Destiny.
The place itself
A small adobe house at the edge of town where Padre Miguel tends to the sick and the wounded. Once a priest, now something between a healer and a holy man, he mixes herbs with prayer and charges what people can afford. The Frontera has a doctor for bullet wounds. La Curandera is for everything else.
What you notice standing there
Bundles of dried herbs hang from the ceiling like inverted gardens. The air is thick with sage, lavender, and something sharper underneath. A crucifix hangs on the wall beside Nahi medicine wheels and shelves of labeled jars. Padre Miguel kneels in prayer or in work — it is hard to tell the difference.
Getting there
La Curandera is a curandera; in the Town region. It is low-risk country — trouble is possible but uncommon. Travel in Desperados Destiny costs energy and takes in-game time, and a route can be interrupted — the danger rating of the road feeds directly into how often that happens. Locations must be discovered before you can travel to them directly, and discovering one for the first time pays experience.
