El Mercado General is a general store in the Sangre Territory, the 1869 frontier setting of the free browser MMO Desperados Destiny.
The place itself
A weathered storefront where honest goods change hands at honest prices — a rarity in the Frontera. Dona Rosario has run this place for thirty years and survived every regime change, every raid, and every revolution. She sells what people need and minds her own business, which is why she is still alive.
What you notice standing there
Shelves sag under the weight of tinned goods, rope coils, and lantern oil. A cat sleeps on the counter beside the register. The floorboards creak with decades of boot traffic. Dona Rosario watches from behind the counter with the patience of a woman who has outlived three outlaws who tried to rob her.
Getting there
El Mercado General is a general store; in the Town region. It carries real risk; travel here is not something to do underlevelled. Travel in Desperados Destiny costs energy and takes in-game time, and a route can be interrupted — the danger rating of the road feeds directly into how often that happens. Locations must be discovered before you can travel to them directly, and discovering one for the first time pays experience.
