Echo Caves is a cave in the Sangre Territory, the 1869 frontier setting of the free browser MMO Desperados Destiny.
The place itself
A vast cave system with extraordinary acoustic properties. Sounds echo for minutes, creating overlapping layers. Some echoes seem to originate from the future - sounds that haven't happened yet.
What you notice standing there
Time feels thin here. Past, present, and future blur in the echoing chambers. Shamans use these caves for prophecy. The deeper you go, the stranger the echoes become.
Getting there
Echo Caves is a cave; it sits in the Sangre Canyon zone, in the Devils Canyon region, and expects a character of at least level 8. It is dangerous country, and the roads to it are worse than the place itself. Travel in Desperados Destiny costs energy and takes in-game time, and a route can be interrupted — the danger rating of the road feeds directly into how often that happens. Locations must be discovered before you can travel to them directly, and discovering one for the first time pays experience.
What hunts here
4 creatures are known to range around Echo Caves: Cave Scorpion (level 9), Claim-Jumper Crew (level 10), The Cave Prophet (level 14) and The Long Echo (level 12). Each is recorded separately in the Field Guide, and a first kill on any species pays a substantial one-off experience bonus.
