The Voice-Eater
Level 26 Monster · Whispering Stones
The Voice-Eater is a level 26 monster found in the Sangre Territory of Desperados Destiny.
Field notes
A sound-based horror that exists only in the acoustics between the stones — heard before seen, felt as skull-pressure first. Its AoE strips the Focused buff from everyone in range, and players who linger hear their own voice played back slightly wrong.
What you are walking into
The Voice-Eater is level 26, carries 338 health, and is classed Scourge Lord. That makes it a late-game threat for a well-equipped character. It leans on pressure, degrading your draws before a card is turned; steady hands matter more than big ones. Every exchange resolves through the Destiny Deck: you draw five cards, choose what to hold, and the resulting poker hand decides how the action lands. Suit matches amplify the result, so the same fight against The Voice-Eater plays out differently each time you take it on.
Where to find The Voice-Eater
The Voice-Eater is encountered at Whispering Stones. You will need to have discovered and travelled to that location before it can appear as a target, and travel between regions carries its own risks — routes are rolled for interception, and a bad roll puts an encounter between you and your destination. The full entry for Whispering Stones covers what else is there.
What it drops
A kill pays 416 experience and between $10 and $26. Its loot table can yield Echo Crystal, Spirit Stone and Mineral Crystals. Drops are rolled per kill, so a full set takes repeat hunting. The first time you kill any species it is also recorded in your Field Guide, which pays a large one-off experience bonus and counts toward the Guide's completion milestones.
