The Whispering Throne
Level 28 Boss · Whispering Stones
The Whispering Throne is one of the boss threats a player meets in Desperados Destiny, sitting at level 28.
Field notes
The accumulated resonance of the standing stones given hostile form — a towering figure of stacked stone and static sound. Stone-throw AoE, then summons Voice-Eater adds from each stone, then adapts its pattern to the player's loudest recent action. The focal stone is its heart.
What you are walking into
The Whispering Throne is level 28, carries 448 health, and is classed Scourge Lord, a boss encounter. That makes it a late-game threat for a well-equipped character. It leans on pressure, degrading your draws before a card is turned; steady hands matter more than big ones. Every exchange resolves through the Destiny Deck: you draw five cards, choose what to hold, and the resulting poker hand decides how the action lands. Suit matches amplify the result, so the same fight against The Whispering Throne plays out differently each time you take it on.
Where to find The Whispering Throne
The Whispering Throne is encountered at Whispering Stones. You will need to have discovered and travelled to that location before it can appear as a target, and travel between regions carries its own risks — routes are rolled for interception, and a bad roll puts an encounter between you and your destination. The full entry for Whispering Stones covers what else is there.
What it drops
A kill pays 2100 experience and between $630 and $980. Its loot table can yield Resonance Shard, Spirit Stone, Mineral Crystals and Echo Crystal. Drops are rolled per kill, so a full set takes repeat hunting. The first time you kill any species it is also recorded in your Field Guide, which pays a large one-off experience bonus and counts toward the Guide's completion milestones.
